Common questions
What happens when my free trial ends?
After 30 days the trial ends and payment details are required to continue on Pro. If not upgraded, the account moves to the Free plan with data preserved but limited to 1 project and 1 user.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes, cancel anytime. Access continues until the end of the billing period. No refunds for unused time.
What's the difference between monthly and yearly?
Monthly is €50/month. Yearly is €480 upfront (€40/month), saving €120/year. Same features on both.
Can I hand a project over to a client?
Yes, on Pro. A project owner who is also a member of the client's company can move the project there, with its secrets, notes, tags and history. An owner of your company approves first, then an owner of the receiving company, which also needs to be on Pro. Only the project owner keeps access; everyone else is added again by the new company.
How do I share a secret with someone outside my company?
On Pro, editors can send a one-time copy of a secret to anyone by email, even without a Vaultez account. Project owners and admins can send several secrets of a project at once, which the recipient can copy as a .env file. The link expires after 1 hour, 1 day or 7 days and works once. The recipient also needs a passphrase that Vaultez generates and shows only to you, so you pass it on another way, for example by phone. Every view is recorded in the activity history of each secret shared. How it's protected.
Is my data secure?
Secret values, notes and two-factor secrets are encrypted at rest with AES-256-GCM, and everything is encrypted in transit. Two-factor authentication is enforced for every account. Role-based access controls and a full audit trail are included on Pro.
How is Vaultez different from 1Password for Teams?
1Password is a password manager that dev teams also use for secrets. Vaultez is built specifically for secrets from the ground up. The difference shows up in three ways. First, the mental model: Vaultez organises around projects and environments, not vaults of passwords. Second, the CLI: fetching secrets in a CI/CD pipeline is a first-class feature in Vaultez — just drop a project token in your pipeline and run
